Day 21: Good Food & Good Company

Last night my husband and I went out to dinner. It took us a little while to decide on a place to eat, but we ended up at a BBQ smokehouse. When we walked into the restaurant we were taken over by the deep smell of campfire. There were so many choices on the menu that sounded so good. Anyone who knows me, knows I’m the most indecisive person in the world. You would think deciding what I’m going to order for dinner was a big life decision. I mean, then again…it has been quite some time since we have been out to eat together, so I wanted to really enjoy my meal! We ended up getting the “meal for 4.” Yes, you read that right. A “meal for 4” when it was only the two of us! It came with a variety of meat: brisket, smoked turkey, jalapeno sausage, and pork ribs. The meat was cooked to perfection, the type of meat that you can cleanly remove from the bone. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it. In addition, it came with three types of sides. We chose a broccoli salad, potato salad, and tater tot casserole. Our tray was covered in food. There was no sight of the bottom of the tray. I was a bit embarrassed by the amount of food we ordered. The people at the table near us, saw us sitting down, and reacted: “WOW! Now that’s a plate of food!”

My eyes ended up being bigger than my stomach, because after the first five large bites I was already pretty full. We brought home a lot of our leftovers that we plan to have for dinner tonight! It was a good night with good food, and most of all good company!

  2. A good BBQ place is hard to find! It sounds like your place (and the company you had) were awesome! The jalapeno sausage sounds especially interesting! 🙂 Is this a place you’ve been to before?

Thanks for the mouthwatering slice! 🙂
