Day 13: My Weekend Mission

Each weekend I have a positive mindset that I am going to complete all the things on my to-do list. I usually have a long list of errands to run, jobs around the house, and activities I want to accomplish. My weekend usually starts off strong but as the day goes on I get less and less enthused about crossing the items off my to-do list. I feel after the first item on the to-do list takes me an hour, I no longer have the energy or desire to complete any of the other tasks. There are also lots of distractions that occur throughout the day. The kids always want to go outside and play and that seems much more appealing than doing anything that I had originally planned. I also feel like I end up doing things that weren’t even on my to-do list to begin with! For example last week I ended up cleaning out one side of the garage. Although I felt so much satisfaction after it was done, I was bummed I couldn’t check it off my list!

This weekend is just the same as the rest. I have a long list of items to complete, however, I am not sure how many of them I will get done. One thing is for sure…I HAVE to clean out the cabinets above our kitchen desk. We throw every odd and end into these cabinets, and I’ve had about enough of the disorganization. So my weekend mission…organize the cabinets! I better go and get started!

  1. I can so relate to this post! I used to be a master at crossing things off my To Do list. Now I just write a list and pick away at it now and again. It’s like I think writing it on the list was the actual act of completion. I also feel my enthusiasm waning as the day progresses. Just now (at not even 10 am) I found myself wanting to just take a nap. Good luck with the cabinets!

  2. I have a very similar mission for this weekend. I also don’t like it when things that are not on my to-do list get done. So, I add it to the list so I can check the box. LOL. Good luck with your mission!
